The company that produces Zeiss binoculars was established in 1846 in Jena. After the Second World War, however, it was divided into two along with the partition of Germany into East and West. When the two states reunited in 1990, so did the company. With this reunification, it became more productive and competitive.

The company now offers 19 models of field glasses classified into two main families. One is the Victory series, the other is the Conquest series. The former provides well-defined views and easy handling. The latter, outstanding performance and value. Both Victory and Conquest models have compact, mid-sized, full-sized, and extended use glasses.
Magnification levels start at 7x and goes up to 15x. Objective lens diameter varies from a small 20mm to a large 56mm. Only two models, the Victory FL Extended Use with 8x and 10x magnification feature the 56 mm. Both Victory and Conquest, however, have models sporting 20mm objective lenses. FOV begins at 192 feet at 1,000 yards. This is found in the Conquest High Power 15x25 B T. The highest, at 450 feet, is featured in the Victory 7x42 T FL.
The most popular model of Zeiss binoculars is the Victory FL 10x42 despite its price of US$1,899.99. This is a full-sized model that uses a roof prism and thin, fully multi-coated lenses that are environmentally friendly. It is also waterproofed, and nitrogen-filled to prevent fogging.
